I know in my head God doesn’t need me to accomplish any of his work. I think some of the most difficult but important things he asks of us are to show up and to empty ourselves. The e-mails I have gotten over the past several months from Cambodia asking for help with agriculture problems and for prayers tempt me to sinfully think, “Wow, they really need me” or "God really needs me", when God is really just asking, “Who will I send and who will go?”, not because he doesn't know who will go but because he wants us to respond. And just like Isaiah was unclean, I can only say, “Here am I, send me” because of the coal from the alter, because of Christ's cleansing blood. It has nothing to do with me or what I can offer.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyse; fear the Lord and shun evil." Proverbs 3:5-7
